I gave a little makeover to a small project that isn’t exactly innovative either, since I’ve seen similar ones around, but the idea is to help keep the memory of MySpace alive.
The main difference between mine and the others I’ve seen is that, besides having a nicer look, it also has more music.

God outside of time × God acting in time
If God is eternal and not subject to time, how can He:
create;
respond;
act;
decide;
not do X before and then do X afterward?
Every verb seems to presuppose a temporal sequence.
And there are interesting paradoxes outside Christianity as well.
In Buddhism, for example, there is a fascinating tension:
If there is no permanent self (anattā), who is reborn?
If person A dies and B is reborn:
if B is the same person, then some kind of permanent identity seems to exist;
if B is not the same person, why should B receive the karmic consequences of A’s actions?
The Buddhist solution is generally neither “the same person” nor “a completely different person,” but rather a causal continuity without a permanent essence — like one flame lighting another.
In Hinduism, especially Advaita Vedānta, another extraordinary question arises:
If Brahman is absolute reality and everything is Brahman, where does māyā, the illusion of separation, come from?
If the illusion is real, then something exists beyond Brahman.
If it is not real, how can it produce the entire experience we have?

Divine Foreknowledge × Free Will
If God already knows infallibly today what you will do tomorrow, could you really do otherwise?
Suppose God knows that tomorrow you will drink coffee.
If tomorrow you decide not to drink coffee, then God was wrong.
But God cannot be wrong.
So… did you really have freedom?
This problem has produced completely different answers in Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Calvinism, Molinism, and so on.

Today I turn 39. 🥳
It’s a somewhat strange date, full of emotional dualities. Although I’m grateful for this incredible journey. Today is the day time celebrates another victory over me.
This terrible enemy, which reminds me that I am ephemeral, shows up today. And it also reminds me to enjoy every second. At some point, it stops, and I will stop too.
But until that moment comes, I’ll keep wandering around... one moment there, another here.

I had always heard about ETL, but I had never really explored it. I’ve always used ClickHouse as a data warehouse for multiple types of databases. This week, though, I focused on learning more about ETL, and I have to admit I was surprised by how much of my work could actually be simplified. Really interesting. A great discovery. 🙂

One of the saddest parts of my infrastructure , and possibly my worst purchase ever , was buying a Synology DS220j about four years ago.

Not because Synology makes bad products. They don’t. It’s just that this particular model is... unfortunate.

I wanted something entry-level. What I actually bought was something that can’t even be called entry-level. It’s more like the parking lot outside the entrance.

I get so frustrated by Cloudron support’s lack of understanding. Even though I no longer use it, I really wish they offered discounts for third-world countries dealing with out-of-control inflation. Unfortunately, I ended up giving up on their software. It makes me so angry that I feel like telling them that this cracks their software:
"sed -i 's/await purchaseApp///await purchaseApp/' /home/yellowtent/box/src/apps.js"

A little one they’ll never know about. 😅
